One.Four.Three.Stop
Is an invitation to pause.
To breathe in fully and out slowly.
To sense the body.
To listen to yourself.
To notice what you notice.

“…the use of dresses as sculptural elements suspended within a space creates an ethereal physical presence. As the audience moves through them the dresses are animated by the disturbance of the air … in an expression of grief which is focussed on the body and through collaboration and dance becomes a celebration of togetherness and healing”.
Jim Bond

Using paper, thread, paint, the landscape of dance and the music of Louie Barby, this installation holds softly the power of repetitious grief and the power to consciously stop.
The accompanying video (above) is projected onto the surface of a dress as part of the installation.

Each dress is suspended from the ceiling.
Hanging, waiting, hollow, suspended in time and space.
The work holding within its threads the disenfranchised grief of the Childless Not By Choice.

“We need beautiful things, places, people, times, more than ever. We drift from that at our peril. Beautiful here – am lost of words…. Wish you will drift through wild flowers and oak beamed vaulted halls 4 ever.”

“Wonderful – absolutely wonderful. Displays like this unlock minds and emotions that will live with the individual forever, serving to inspire the creative spirit of many – not just a few.”

I, I felt paper thin
I moved slightly to the side as friends and siblings had their own children
I felt paper thin
I tore so easily
I tore

“My story is of the healing power of dance, art and acceptance.”
